About the challenge

Team CF Superhero: My Challenge, My Way is a chance for you to be a superhero at your own pace. This event gives you the freedom to choose a challenge that's right for you – whether you're shielding yourself or a loved one, you can't attend an event, or you're not quite ready to take your superpowers public – while helping us fight for a life unlimited for everyone affected by cystic fibrosis.

Your challenge can be anything – running laps around your garden, doing 100 jumping-jacks a day, forward-rolling every Friday… the choice is yours! Check out our A-Z of activities for inspiration.

Louise’s family are shielding for the safety of their daughter Gemma, who has cystic fibrosis. Louise’s husband has lost income due to COVID-19 and they have to wait five weeks for Government support to come through, leaving them without income for food and basic essentials. £150 could provide Louise and her family with a grant to help with these costs, ensuring Gemma’s health could be protected.

James has CF and is normally a very active teenager; however, he had to stop his regular exercise due to shielding. His family were concerned about his fitness and that his mental health would suffer. £200 could provide James with a grant for a home multi-gym and weights, enabling him to replicate his usual exercise at the gym, at home.

Richard has CF and lives with his wife, who also has a long-term medical condition, so both are shielding at home. They were struggling to get regular food deliveries and needed to buy food in bulk to ensure they didn’t need to make trips to the shops. £250 could provide them with a grant to buy a freezer, enabling them to store the food they need safely.

We need you

Now more than ever, we need your help.

This is a time of great anxiety for people with CF, and many will be shielding themselves or loved ones. We’ve seen a huge increase in the demand for our services and financial support, which comes at a time when we are facing a substantial drop in our fundraising income. We’re doing all we can to support every single person who needs us, but we’re facing tough choices.

By supporting us through this challenge, you will be helping us reach every person with CF and their family when they need us most.
